PRIVACY POLICY – Cognetic Training Demo
Effective Date: 4 June 2025 | Last Updated: 2 July 2025
1. Who We Are
Animated Technologies Ltd (“Animated Technologies”, “we”, “our”, “us”)
Registered office: M‑SParc, Menai Science Park, Gaerwen, Anglesey LL60 6AG, United Kingdom
Email: privacy@animatedtechnologies.co.uk
Animated Technologies Ltd is the data controller for crash‑log data captured through Unity Cloud Diagnostics. Unity Technologies is our processor for that data. Meta Platforms acts as an independent controller for any headset‑ or store‑level data.
We have completed Meta’s Data Protection Assessment (submission ID to be added at launch).
2. Scope
This policy applies only to the Animated Technologies VR Demo when installed on Meta Quest headsets (Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest Pro). It does not cover our website, social media pages, or other products.
We do not receive, store, or process Meta account data such as your profile, friends list, or usage history.
3. What Data We Process & Why
Category: Runtime device & network telemetry(Unity Engine).
Typical Contents: Device model, OS version, CPU/GPU, Unity player version, IP address (short‑lived).
Purpose & Lawful Basis (UK/EU GDPR Art 6): Required for the Unity runtime to function and validate licences.Legitimate interests (Unity). We never see raw IP addresses.
Category: Crash & error logs (Unity Cloud Diagnostics – always on).
Typical Contents: Stack traces, error codes, frame‑rate data, timestamp, truncated IP address (log header), device specs.
Purpose & Lawful Basis (UK/EU GDPR Art 6): Diagnose and fix crashes, security issues, and performance defects. Legitimate interests (Animated Technologies). Essential to maintain a secure, functional product.
Crash logging cannot be disabled within the app; however, you may request deletion of any log already captured under the process described in Section 8.
Category: Headset & store data (Meta Quest OS).
Typical Contents: Headset serial, guardian settings, store entitlement info.
Purpose & Lawful Basis (UK/EU GDPR Art 6): Lets the headset run, update, and license the app.Contract (between you & Meta). We never receive this data.
We do not record or transmit positional tracking, hand‑tracking, eye‑tracking, room‑mapping, or passthrough‑camera images. If this changes, we will update this policy before releasing the feature.
Crash logging is mandatory. Disabling it would materially degrade security and performance, so it remains enabled under our legitimate interests. (You can still limit telemetry globally via your Meta Quest device settings.)
We do not combine logs with other datasets to identify you, nor do we use Unity Analytics, advertising SDKs, or cookies.

6. International Transfers

- UK ICO Addendum to the SCCs
- Unity’s Intra‑Group Data‑Transfer Agreement
7. Security Measures
- Data encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES‑256)
- Access to the Unity dashboard is restricted to authorised staff via MFA
- Strict least‑privilege access controls on developer workstations
8. Your Privacy Rights
You have the following rights in relation to the crash‑log data that Animated Technologies processes through Unity Cloud Diagnostics:
• Access – obtain a copy of the crash‑log record linked to your device.
• Rectification – correct inaccurate or incomplete log data (where technically feasible).
• Erasure (Deletion) – have crash‑log data deleted permanently.
• Restriction – require us to stop processing a particular log.
• Objection – object to our reliance on legitimate interests.
• Portability – receive the log in a structured, machine‑readable format.
How to exercise a right
Email privacy@animatedtechnologies.co.uk and include any crash‑report ID or timestamp visible in your Quest headset logs (or attach the log file). Because the logs are pseudonymised, we may ask for additional technical details (e.g., device model and approximate failure time) to locate the record. Once verified, we will instruct Unity to fulfil your request and we will confirm completion within 30 days. We do not charge a fee and will never discriminate against you for making a request.
We do not sell or share crash‑log data for cross‑context behavioural advertising; therefore, no “Do Not Sell/Share” link is required. You may still email us to make a CPRA request. Because crash logs are shortened and not linked to named profiles, we will ask for log IDs/timestamps and forward deletion or correction requests to Unity
9. Children
The app is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 13, you must use a Meta child account that complies with Meta’s minimum‑age rules. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Updates
We may amend this policy to reflect legal, technical, or business changes. The new version will be posted in‑app and on our website with a revised “Last Updated” date. The policy is hosted at an HTTPS URL secured by a certificate from a trusted Certificate Authority, in line with Meta VRC Quest Privacy.1.
