Goodbye June, Hello July!

General
fancy a chat?

June has been a wild one, and it's only a taste of what's to come...

Animated Technologies spiral graphic.

First of all, let me introduce myself.
Hello! I’m Haf, I joined AT at the beginning of the month 👋 I suppose you can get used to hearing from me, I’m responsible for marketing and communications in the company.

We’ve also welcomed another member to the team, Pete! A local avid gamer, turned developer. Pete is mostly self-taught, with a keen eye for attention-to-detail. He is responsible for assisting Mike, our lead developer, with bringing high-quality Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality applications to life. In his spare time, Pete enjoys building 3D printers and creating anything from a basic keyring to a life size Cyberman helmet. When he’s not printing something incredible, you’ll find him out on his motorbike.

The beginning of the month saw Meg and Anna head to the NEC for the Smart Factory Expo, Engineering and Manufacturing week. They showcased some of our amazing animations and incredible AR applications that we’ve been working hard on developing.

The team took a day out to Holyhead to test and photograph the Beneath The Waves app, ahead of the launch next month, keep your eyes peeled for that!
Beneath The Waves is an app that allows anybody to learn more about the maritime history of Holyhead, through an interactive map and AR. Collect badges and follow trails through the town’s past.. 🌊

The team have been hard at work as usual, creating incredible animations and developing innovative apps. Mike and Pete have been working on the latest stages of Aberwla, a brilliant VR app that allows anybody to learn Welsh in a fun, judgement-free and confidence-building environment. Headsets are being updated with the latest version of Aberwla, ready to go to the Welsh Immersion Centres across Wales!

Our lead animator, Matt has been working with 3 sixth formers from Denbigh High School that are participating in this year's F1 In School competition. The team of three girls are competing in the annual F1 racing competition, in which groups of students have to design and manufacture a miniature car out of the official F1 Model Block using CAD/CAM design tools. Matt has given his time to create a short animation and 3D models of the cars that the team have created.

Later on in the month, our incredible Managing Director Anna, won an award in recognition of her being added to the list of Inspirational Business Women in STEM and Construction! 💥 And then to top it off, Anna received a nomination for the Entrepreneur Award by Chwarae Teg.

If you’re interested in being part of an award-winning team, good news! We’re looking for a talented freelance XR designer to assist with VR and AR projects that we are currently developing.

We are working on some innovative educational solutions with language learning as well as VR training and AR product showcase applications and trail apps.
