The Challenge

Quoceant, marine energy engineering consultants, were contracted by the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) to develop a concept for a Floating Subsystem Test Platform (FSTP). This platform aims to serve as an offshore test bed for novel sub-systems like monitoring equipment, mooring technologies, and new materials. Animated Technologies collaborated with Quoceant to produce a 3D technical animation that: - Illustrated the FSTP's design and operational capabilities. - Highlighted the platform's adaptability for various sub-system tests. - Showcased the integration of innovative technologies in offshore wind testing. This visual tool was instrumental in conveying complex engineering concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.

The solution

The animation effectively demonstrated the FSTP's potential, aiding Quoceant in securing interest and support from stakeholders. It also served as a valuable asset in discussions about the platform's development and deployment at EMEC's test site.
Animated Technologies found the perfect balance of detail in our video which has already started to generate the interest we had hoped for. They were incredibly professional and easy to work with remotely which was essential during these difficult times. They guided me through the process and required little input from me during the design process once the initial scope had been agreed which was great.
